# MetaPet Schools Wellbeing Escalation Pathway

## When to use this pathway

Use this pathway if a student response during a `MetaPet Schools` session suggests distress, disclosure, dysregulation, or another wellbeing concern that goes beyond normal classroom reflection.

## Immediate teacher response

1. Pause the activity.
2. Move the student back to normal classroom support.
3. Do not improvise counselling through the tool.
4. Record a factual note about what happened.

## School escalation

1. Follow the school's existing wellbeing and safeguarding procedures.
2. Notify the nominated staff member for wellbeing or child safety.
3. Contact family according to school policy when required.
4. Review whether the class or individual should continue with the pilot.

## Product rule

`MetaPet Schools` must never be used as the primary response to a wellbeing issue. It is a classroom learning tool, not a support service.
